Global education helps students grow by exposing them to real-world scenarios in the classroom setting. By doing so, they experience different cultures and a different way of life than what they are used to, which in return develops respect for people and encourages empathy towards people who come from different backgrounds. Students grow their knowledge academically by establishing connections between what they learn and their previous knowledge on the real world. Then they can make ethical decisions based on what they are taught about people from different backgrounds than them.

Global education prepares students for a diverse world by aiding them in understanding how people are connected with countries and their cultures. By doing this, it builds skills that include teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking. These skills allow for better preparation when working with others that come from varied backgrounds. It allows for students to become informed and adaptable to be able to successfully make correct decisions and contribute in positive ways in an interconnected world.

I experienced standardized testing through my K-12 years in many different ways. Teachers would change their lesson plans up the week before to run through test prep to get us ready. Their whole demeanor would change. We would come in on test day and grab a #2 pencil and go to our assigned seat. From there we were given a scantron sheet and sat in silence until we filled it out and everyone was finished. I do not remember the names of the tests given throughout my younger years. The PreACT and ACT were the main ones throughout my high school years. Each test made me feel stressed out, anxious, and scared. I believe they caused these emotions because they are such big tests that determine if I may be ready for the next grade level and even what colleges I can apply to due to my ACT score.
